There are a number of local organisations for carers of people with a learning disability;
- CAPE is a group of parents, carers and relatives of adults with learning disabilities aged 18 years and over.
- Our Voice are a parent–led organisation working with parents and carers, as well as the statutory and voluntary sectors, to improve services for children and young people with disabilities or special educational needs in the borough of Enfield.
- Families in Transition to Adulthood work closely with the council, co-producing the transition information.
The Enfield Carers Centre's mission is to improve the lives of family/unpaid Carers, living in or caring for an Enfield resident so that they are: recognised by statutory service providers as experts in care; aware of their rights: well-equipped to care; not financially disadvantaged; able to enjoy a life outside caring; prepared and involved in the planning of services or provision of care for their loved ones.
Health and wellbeing
People with a Learning Disability may experience poorer health outcomes than the whole population.

Annual health Checks play a key role in addressing health inequalities. We have made a Learning Disability Annual Health Checks; A GP resource, to help people make the most of their annual health check.
ToothPASTE offer advice and support of families of young Autistic children to care for their teeth. However, their site has videos and accessible materials that might be helpful for some people with a learning disability. You can find out more on their website here - ToothPASTE
