The purpose of the Mental Health Partnership Board
- Purpose
1.1 Our vision is for people in Enfield to have timely access to mental health services, which are of high quality, focus on recovery and outcomes, and are delivered through effective partnerships. 1.2 The Enfield Mental Health Partnership Board has been established to bring together statutory health and social care commissioners, service providers, voluntary and community sector organisations, service users, and carers, to work collaboratively to improve the mental health and wellbeing of Adults in Enfield.
1.3 Work of the Board is informed by the national and local priorities, which:
- The Five Year Forward View for Mental Health
- The North Central London Sustainability and Transformation Plan
- Barnet Enfield and Haringey Mental Health NHS Trust Clinical Strategies
- Mental Health Needs Assessment for Enfield
- Suicide Prevention Strategy
- Enfield’s VCS strategy
- Enfield’s Health and Wellbeing Board’s work plan.
- Local Area Forums
- Citizen’s feedback
1.4 The Mental Health Partnership Board has a strategic function and plays a crucial role in influencing the shape of mental health services and policies by:
- Having active involvement in developing strategies and action plans
- Overseeing the implementation of agreed strategies and action plans
- Ensuring fair and equal opportunity for all participants and service users
1.5 On an operational level, the Mental Health Partnership Board is responsible for:
- Support the development of mental health services that better meet the needs of the local population
- identifying and pursuing internal and external funding opportunities with a view to deliver joint projects
- and to establish there is no conflict of interest between the Board business and Board representation
- establishing mechanisms for: effective partnership working (including holding each other to account), sharing best practice and identifying service gaps or potential areas for consolidation taking account of the existing evidence base and service users’ / carers’ feedback
