There are lots of ways we can help maintain good mental health and wellbeing, including building support and social networks, seeking help for practical issues, hobbies, creative activities, exercise, being in nature, practising relaxation and finding a purpose, e.g. volunteering.

Needing a little help
Sometimes we may need more specific support with our mental health, to help us to remain as independent as possible, and there are several places within and outside the borough we can access this support.
Mental health centres and drop-ins
Mental Health Enablement Drop-in Service. Provides advice, information and advocacy to people who have mental health support needs. There is also support for healthy living, coping skills, developing community links, increasing confidence, lessening isolation and improving mental and physical wellbeing.

If you’re living with a longer-term or more severe mental health condition, you may need more specialised support and advice. You can also access the more informal support listed above, to help manage your symptoms.

Mental Health Enablement Service – Short-term referred service, working closely with people who have mental health support needs to achieve independent living, community participation, healthy living, self-determination, and an improved quality of life (referral via mental health teams).
