Ask your family, friends and trusted neighbour for help with household tasks, for example shopping, cleaning and gardening.

Search the internet for local cleaner, gardener, mobile hairdresser, chiropodist but remember to use trusted organisations

Minor changes round your house
You may wish to make private arrangements for a contractor, using websites such as Checkatrade to find a recommended local decorator, handyman, plumber, electrician or builder.
Homeshare
Homeshare enables two unrelated people to share a home for mutual benefit. The homesharer benefits from low cost accommodation, while the householder receives companionship and practical help in and around their home.
Benefits include:
- Help people who need support such as older people, stay in their own homes for longer
- Provides affordable accommodation for younger people or key workers, as a time of record housing shortages and high rent

Private home care
Making a private arrangement with a care agency - can make a huge difference to your life, especially if you have difficulty walking and getting around. It can help you stay living independently in your own home.

Adapting a person’s home due to disability is subject to assessment and is on the recommendation of the Occupational Therapist.
